This kitchen in Oxshott, Surrey featured dark oak veneer slab doors which, while well laid out, were starting to look tired and dated.
The client wanted to modernise the space without replacing the kitchen, taking inspiration from magazines and Pinterest. The aim was to achieve a lighter, more contemporary look with a two-tone kitchen colour transformation, along with new cup handles and knobs.

Preparation was key to refining the darker oak finish.
All panels were carefully sanded, and the grain was partially filled to create a smoother, more even surface while still retaining a subtle natural texture.
Doors were measured and marked to ensure the new handles would be perfectly aligned and consistent throughout the kitchen.
Doors and panels were professionally prepared and spray finished to achieve a smooth, even coating across all surfaces.
The island and main kitchen were treated as separate elements to create contrast, with each area carefully sprayed to ensure consistency and a high-quality finish throughout.

The island was spray painted in Farrow & Ball – Hague Blue, while the main kitchen was finished in Farrow & Ball – Ammonite, creating a balanced two-tone effect.
New cup handles and knobs were fitted, and all elements were aligned to complete the transformation.
The result is a lighter, more contemporary kitchen with added depth and contrast — demonstrating how kitchen cabinet spray painting can completely modernise a space without the need for replacement.
